FLOOD-HIT Worcestershire remain hopeful of playing Hampshire at their New Road HQ in September.

The Pears have been forced to re-arrange several home matches as a result of the second major flood of the season at their ground last weekend.

But wherever Hampshire have to travel to for a Championship Division One game, they won't be facing Aussie pair Phil Jacques and Doug Bollinger.

Opening bat Jacques and seam bowler Bollinger have been selected as part of the Australian squad for the 'A' team tour of Pakistan in September.

They are required to leave New Road on August 18 and report back for a training camp Down Under.

Jacques has been a consistent performer with the bat but Bollinger has taken only eight LV County Championship wickets this season.

Meanwhile, Worcestershire's Championship Division One match against Yorkshire from August 14 to 17 will be played at Kidderminster.

The televised NatWest Pro40 Division One match against Lancashire Lightning on August 25 will be played at Taunton.

Pears chief executive Mark Newton said: "Kidderminster has hosted many first class games in the past and they have an excellent wicket at Chester Road. We are delighted they have agreed to stage this game at short notice.

"The match against Lancashire Lightning is a televised game so it has been necessary to find a ground that is both available and capable of taking the infrastructure required.

"Somerset couldn't have been more helpful in agreeing to stage this game.

"We are aware that this will involve some travel for our members and supporters but we hope they will support us in large numbers during these unusual circumstances."
