JIMMY Adams missed out on a century as he led Hampshire against Somerset in the second XI championship at Taunton Vale today.
Adams made 96 and Sean Ervine contributed 82 as Hampshire made 300, having resumed on 83-0 after dismissing Somerset for 246 on the first day.
But Somerset wiped out the 54-run first-innings deficit and closed on 144-1, a lead of 90 going into the final day.
Adams said: "Hopefully we'll be able to arrange a run chase to make the last day interesting".
