LANCASHIRE chief executive Jim Cumbes has hit out at Hampshire chairman Rod Bransgrove.
The Rose Bowl chief was critical of the Red Rose county earlier this week for staging the current Championship match against the Hawks, which finally got underway yesterday after the first day was totally washed-out, on a below-par pitch at Old Trafford.
The outfield at Old Trafford has been affected by the staging of two Arctic Monkeys rock concerts last week.
Cumbes said: "Quite rightly he (Bransgrove) is trying to promote the Rose Bowl as an international venue and I fully understand that.
"But if he is doing that by the virtue of down-playing anybody else then I think it is unnecessary.
"Some of the stuff he has said is completely over the top".
