HAMPSHIRE HAWKS (197-2) BEAT WARWICKSHIRE BEARS(196-8) BY EIGHT WICKETS, WITH 10.4 OVERS TO SPARE

* Chairman Rod Bransgrove has revealed that Shane Warne's ECB disciplinary hearing at Lord's is scheduled for Monday. Warne returns from Spain on Friday. Bransgrove said: "It doesn't give him much time to prepare a defence." An allegation has been made against Warne, who is currently sidelined with a cracked rib, regarding his behaviour during the Pro40 defeat against Sussex on August 12.

Warwickshire bowling: Anyon 8-0-51-2, Thomas 5-1-39-0, Streak 5-0-24-0, Groenewald 3-0-22-0, Loudon 4-0-30-0, Maddy 1-0-12-0, Trott 3.2-0-15-0

197-2 Michael Carberry hit the winning run with 10.4 overs remaining. Ervine finished on 80* (77 balls, 13 fours), his highest one-day score since his 104 against the same opponents in the C & G Trophy final at Lord's two years ago.

191-2 WICKET (MICHAEL LUMB) With only six runs needed, Lumb chipped to mid-off for a 73-ball 82.

132-1 Only 51 balls were needed for Ervine's fifty, which was reached in the 20th over. Hampshire's two left-handers have been a joy to watch tonight

111-1 Ervine's reverse sweep against Alex Loudon kept the Hawks firmly on course in the 22nd over

90-1 The 15 overs are up and the Hawks are coasting - the required run rate is only 4.27

70-1 Michael Lumb has been sensational tonight and needed only 36 balls for his fifty which he reached by crunching his ninth four through mid-wicket in the 11th over. His fifty also included a huge six over long-on against Anyon.

44-1 WICKET (JOHN CRAWLEY) A Jimmy Anyon off cutter was too much for the Hampshire veteran's leg stump in the seventh over.

22-0 Crawley was on 10 when he was put down at mid off by Streak in the sixth over.

Hampshire bowling: Powell 6-0-30-0, Bruce 6-0-17-1, Taylor 8-1-33-3, Ervine 8-0-48-2, Udal 8-0-31-2, Dawson 3-0-19-0, Adams 1-0-8-0

196-8 The Hawks did unbelievably well to restrict Warwickshire to less than five an over. The Bears were 147-3 after 30 overs but the Hawks were outstanding in the last ten, taking five wickets for just 49 runs. Taylor was particularly impressive at the death. It's hard to understand why he has been overlooked for so long. Shaun Udal, speaking to the Sky Sports cameras, said: "We didn't do too well at Northants on Monday but did better today. We took the pace of the ball, bowled straighter and fuller and have no fear about chasing under floodlights. We chased 215 to beat Notts in our last Pro40 game here and the Rose Bowl lights are the best in the country."

195-8 WICKET (HEATH STREAK) John Crawley held on to a stunning catch at backward point that was arguably even better than the two he held on to in the same position, against the same opponents, in the Friends Provident Trophy semi final two months ago.

190-7 Powell dropped a return catch against Alex Loudon but conceded just two runs from the penultimate over to finish with 6-0-30-0

188-7 WICKET (JIM TROUGHTON) Taylor continued to show his value in one-day cricket when the Bears' left hander hit the penultimate ball of the 38th over to James Bruce at long-off.

187-6 WICKET (TIM GROENEWALD) Billy Taylor, having bowled an excellent first spell (6-1-20-0) had the first ball of the 38th over swatted for six by Tim Groenewald. But he responded with an emphatic yorker next ball.

180-5 WICKET (VAUGHN VAN JAARSVELD) The Warwickshire debutant missed after swinging across the line in the 37th over, the last from the experienced Udal (8-0-31-2)

160-4 WICKET (JONATHAN TROTT) The Warwickshire right-hander was denied a century when he missed an attempted pull against Udal and was bowled for 90 in the 34th over.

147-3 WICKET (TIM AMBROSE) Ervine struck with the last ball of the 30th over, when the Warwickshire wicketkeeper holed out to Udal at cow corner.

134-2 WICKET (KUMAR SANGAKKARA) Sean Ervine strikes in the third over of his second spell, the 28th. John Crawley did well to hold on to a reaction catch at mid wicket as the ball was coming right out of the sun. Meanwhile, a 'Naked Hawks' calendar featuring a dozen Hampshire players in their birthday suits, with various items of cricket equipment protecting their modesty, has been shown to the press by commercial director Stuart Robertson, who needed one scribe to confirm to the media centre security guard that he was who he said he was. The calendar pics were of particular interest to Kate Laven of the Daily Telegraph. It will be on sale in two weeks' time, priced £9.99. For more information, log on to www.nakedhawks.com

126-1 Jimmy Adams replaced Dawson (3-0-19-0) after 25 overs

105-1 Jonathan Trott reached his fifty (77 balls) in Dawson's second over.

92-1 Liam Dawson was introduced to bowl the 21st over of the innings from the Pavilion End. Kumar Sangakkara edged his first delivery for a streaky two and the overs costs seven.

72-1 The fielding restrictions are now over, with 15 overs gone.

69-1 WICKET (DARREN MADDY) Bruce was replaced by Sean Ervine at the Northern End after a first spell that read: 5-0-11-0. But after Sean Ervine went for 12 in his first over, Bruce returned - and responded with the wicket of the Bears captain. Maddy (30) stepped across his stumps and attempted to paddle Bruce to the leg side, but missed.

43-0 The Bears got off to a flier against Daren Powell, who sent down two wides in his opening spell from the Pavilion End. Thankfully, James Bruce has been applying the brakes from the Northern End. Shane Warne is not on the ground today. Apparently he is in Spain but has already written to the ECB to deny the allegation relating to his behaviour during the recent Pro40 defeat against Sussex at Hove. Ten overs have been bowled.

TOSS:Warwickshire have won the toss and elected to bat.

Hampshire have named the same team that suffered a third successive one-day defeat against the Northamptonshire Steelbacks at Northampton on Bank Holiday Monday. Liam Dawson makes his home debut.

Play is due to start at 4.40pm and Hampshire have already received a boost with the news that the U17s have won the academy title, beating Durham by 335 runs in the final at Hove this afternoon. Hamza Riazuddin (146), Tim Ravenscroft (100) and James Vince (93) scored the bulk of the runs in Hampshire's 470-8. Then the Ventnor duo of slow left armer Danny Briggs(5-19) and seamer Tom Friend (4-33) dismissed Durham for 135. Well done, boys.
