Hampshire manager Paul Terry has refused to rule out a move for former England bowler Simon Jones.
Injury-plagued Jones' ECB contract expires at the end of the season and Hampshire have been given permission to speak to the 28-year-old by his county Glamorgan.
Glamorgan chairman Paul Russell said: "I can confirm that Hampshire have been given permission to speak to Simon, but am unaware of any approach."
Terry admitted: "We haven't spoken to Simon Jones at this stage but it's a possibility."
