DIMI Mascarenhas has been included in England's one-day squad for the forthcoming series of Sri Lanka - but there is noplace for Chris Tremlett.

Hampshire all-rounder Mascarenhas, who finished the recent series against India with a flourish with five successive sixes at The Oval and three wickets in the deciding victory at Lord's, was given the nod when the squad was announced this morning.

This completes a fine weekend for the 29-year-old, who 24 hours earlier was called up as a last-minute replacement for Ryan Sidebottom for the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa, starting on Thursday.

But there was no place for Tremlett, who has been replaced by Graeme Swann and has also missed out on a central contract for the forthcoming 12 months.

The ECB have replaced the now retired Ashley Giles and long-term absentees Simon Jones and Marcus Trescothick with James Anderson and Ryan Sidebottom.

There was no place for wicket-keeper Matt Prior in the list of 12 while Hampshire's Kevin Pietersen was named in both lists as expected.
