Batsman Kevin Pietersen claims he is at the ''end of his tether'' and cannot wait to return home from England's disappointing tour of the West Indies.
The 28-year-old is still reeling from the decision at the start of the year to remove him as England captain after he told the England and Wales Cricket Board he could not work with head coach Peter Moores.
His form appeared unaffected in the Caribbean as he scored one century and three fifties in the 1-0 series defeat, but Pietersen says he has been left mentally drained by the captaincy row.
''What happened in January drained me mentally and I know people have been watching me and talking about me throughout this tour,'' he said in an interview with the Daily Mail.
''It's been a heck of a tough time and I'm at the end of my tether now. Really and truly I can't wait to get home.
''It's been a tough tour for everyone because of the simple fact that we've won only one game to date and that was only because of a mistake by the West Indies coach.
''To go through a winter like this is soul-destroying. We all want to play in a winning team and to be beaten day-in day-out, especially after the way we finished last summer against South Africa, is just not good enough.''
Pietersen admits he has been homesick and missing his wife Jessica, who was unable to join him in the Caribbean because she reached the final of Dancing on Ice.
''Jess (his wife) has been doing this television show, training for it since October, and this is the longest we've been away from each other since we met,'' he added. ''It's killing me. I'm ready to do a Robinho and disappear back home!
''But we have three games to go and then it will be time for a fresh challenge.''
