Hampshire's C&G Trophy winning stars come to Bournemouth's Chapel Gate ground tomorrow evening for a Twenty20 Challenge Match against the Southern Electric Premier League.
And England off-spinner Shaun Udal says they'll be taking the game "very seriously" after TWICE being on the receiving end of 20-over defeats by the Premier League cricketers in 2004.
"We had egg on our faces twice in successive nights two years ago and we've not forgotten the hammerings we took, particularly at Bournemouth, where they beat us by seven wickets," he said.
Udal is expected to skipper a powerful Hampshire side.
But, unless he has a change of plan, Shane Warne won't be playing as he's due to make a brief return to Australia before Hampshire's Twenty20 Challenge proper begins.
Also missing is former Bournemouth all-rounder Dimitri Mascarenhas, who is playing for the PCA Masters in a Twenty20 international against Sri Lanka at Arundel Castle.
Otherwise, Hampshire plan to parade a full-strength county side, with John Crawley, Nick Pothas, Sean Irvine and Michael Carberry among the top names expected to be on view.
Tomorrow's match is in aid of Tony Middleton, above, and his Testimonial.
Cash admission to Chapel Gate is £5 (adult) and £2 (concessions).
The match, which will be played in coloured clothing, with a white ball and black sightscreens, starts at 6.15pm.
No tickets are being sold in advance and there is plenty of free car parking.
Bournemouth's Richard Scott is player-managing the Premier League side, which includes Chapel Gate team-mate Darren Cowley.
Hursley Park's Jimmy Taylor is banging loudly on the door for inclusion in the SEPL.
Taylor has hit centuries against the Hampshire Academy and Liphook & Ripsley in the past two weeks and could fill a batting vacancy in the SPL line up.
Zimbabwe Test batsman Charles Coventry, who is playing for United Services, is included in the Premier League side.
Probable squads Hampshire: Shaun Udal, Michael Carberry, John Crawley, Dominic Thornely, Sean Irvine, Greg Lamb, Nick Pothas, Mitchell Stokes, Jono McLean, Billy Taylor, James Bruce.
SPL: Darren Cowley (Bournemouth), Steve Dean, Richard Hindley, Richard Pineo (Havant), Alex Senneck, Tom Morton (South Wilts), Dan Goldstraw, Lee Savident (BAT Sports), Roger Miller (Andover), Charles Coventry (US), AN Other.
