Alex Senneck finished with Premier League best figures of 7-42 as South Wilts took five wickets off the last 22 balls without a run conceded, to snatch a 115-run win over Hursley Park at The Quarters.

"It was an unbelievable finish," said South Wilts skipper Rob Wade. "It was such a good track that it looked impossible to bowl a side out, but Alex had other ideas and bowled superbly."

A 157-run fourth-wicket partnership by James Hayward (88) and Jo Cranch (71) put the game beyond Hursley.

"We were 46-3 at one stage in the morning, but James batted beautifully and, but for a crazy run-out, would have scored a century," Wade said.

Wade added 29 after Stu Wilson (5-55) had made his mark.

Prospects of Hursley Park reaching South Wilts' 261 disappeared by 29-3 Senneck, above, removing Adie Aymes and Jimmy Taylor. Safety first was the Hursley game plan thereafter Paul Marks (38), Paul Edwards (35) and James Kennedy (42) seeing them to 146-5.

"I think we'd all settled for a draw at that time except Alex !" Wade said.

The former Army and Combined Services player removed Kennedy and, after Hayward's left-arm spin accounted for Andy Marks, Senneck blew the lower order away.

Ollie Green, Dave Greetham and Stu Wilson went for ducks as Hursley Park lost five wickets at 146 without a run!

l Liphook & Ripsley dropped to the basement after a 74-run defeat by Portsmouth at Ripsley Park.

Former Hampshire opener Derek Kenway (55) struck a second consecutive half-century as Portsmouth posted 248 (Greg Fotheringham 55).

Middlesex prospect Chris Wright took 4-40, but only Tom Cledwyn (48) and Jez Bulled (38) made a mark before Pete Hayward (3-20) and Paul Ancell (3-44) bowled out Liphook for 164.
