Hampshire all-rounder Dimi Mascarenhas' exclusive Daily Echo column appears in today's paper.

Dimi writes ...

The defeat at Sussex was not the way we wanted to start the Twenty20 Cup and we'll be going all out to rectify that against Middlesex today.

It was frustrating because for about 98 per cent of the game we were on top.

But in the last four overs, we threw it away.

Sussex have become a bit of a bogey team for us, although I did think we had the wood over them until recently.

We said as the game went on that a target of about 160 would be good score.

The wicket was turning a bit and they need 47 off the last four overs.

We brought (Greg) Lamby on and he went for 20 off one over. It's a shame because he had batted really well earlier, smashing 55 from 35 balls.

Then Twiggy (Chris Tremlett) went for 13 off his over despite picking up a wicket. It's tough for him at the moment as he's still trying to find his feet after an injury lay-off.

Earlier in the game, Mushtaq (Ahmed) got me with a googly first ball.

I often get asked how he compares to our own captain Shane Warne as both are top-flight international spin bowlers and I think they are roughly the same age.

To be honest, there is no com-parison you just have to look at Warney's 685 Test wickets to see that. He's the leading Test wicket-taker for a reason.

Warney is a totally different sort of bowler to Mushtaq who bowls a lot of wrong'uns.

Mushtaq is a brilliant bowler but he doesn't get as much turn as Warney and he bowls quite straight.

Still, I guess he got me out!
