Man-of-the-match Greg Lamb reckons Hampshire need to win their last three Twenty20 group games to qualify for the quarter- finals.

Lamb led Hampshire to a vital 36-run win against Essex last night before targeting two more Rose Bowl victories, against Surrey on Thursday and Sussex on Friday, and a third win in the final fixture against Middlesex at Southgate next Tuesday.

Hampshire are second-from-bottom of the six team south division but the top teams automatically qualify for the quarter finals and the best two third-placed teams from the three regional divisions also make the last eight.

Lamb said: "I'm very happy to be man-of-the-match but it's a team game and we have to win the last three games.

"The stats show that we do well at home and if we continue like this for the rest of the week we have an excellent chance.

"We're not so good away from home but we shouldn't be worrying about that, with the support behind us at The Rose Bowl, there is no reason why we cannot go through."
