Hampshire star Jimmy Adams has agreed a new three-year contract.
Adams, Hampshire's Player of the Year for the last two seasons, is now contracted to his home county until the end of 2013.
Manager Giles White said: “Jimmy has been such a big part of the teams’ success in 2010, so I couldn’t be happier that he has pledged his long-term future to Hampshire.”
Adams has also agreed a deal to play in New Zealand's domestic Twenty20 competition, the HRV Cup, for the Auckland Aces this winter.
He will join them following the England Performance Programme’s four-day match against a Queensland XI from November 25-28.
Adams, Hampshire's leading run scorer in all competitions last season, said: “Hampshire is my home so I’m very happy to be signing a new deal at The Rose Bowl. Auckland, too, will be a great challenge, but also an excellent opportunity for me to improve my skills.
“I’m looking forward to a great winter and plenty more successful seasons at Hampshire.”
