Hampshire batsman Michael Carberry has been ruled out of the England Performance Programme squad which departs for Australia on Friday for medical reasons.
The Rose Bowl star, who made his Test debut in Bangladesh earlier this year, is currently receiving treatment for blood clots and shortness of breath.
The treatment has been successful but precludes Carberry from long haul flights in the short term Selectors have decided not to call up a replacement for Carberry at this stage The England Performance Programme, featuring Hampshire colleagues Jimmy Adams and Danny Briggs, will be based in Brisbane from November 13, playing a four-day match against a Queensland XI (November 25-28) before relocating to Perth on November 29 to play a one day game against Retravision Warriors on December 3 followed by a four-day match against a Western Australia XI (December 7-10).
