The Rajasthan Royals have been given the go-ahead to take part in next month’s Indian Premier League auction.
Hampshire’s commercial partners have been issued with a six-week stay on their expulsion from the IPL.
Hampshire chairman Rod Bransgrove said: "We are pleased to see that the process is moving forward.
“Whilst, as yet, no contract between the two clubs has been concluded, we have always maintained that our own due diligence regarding Rajasthan Royals has been satisfactory.
"We remain hopeful, therefore, that this matter will be finally resolved in a satisfactory manner in order that the planned partnership may proceed.”
Hampshire duo Michael Lumb and Dimitri Mascarenhas both played for the Rajasthan Royals last year.
