The Indian Premier League auction could be delayed by another two months because of the ongoing legal dispute between the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the two expelled franchises, Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab.
The player auction has already been put back from November to January and an IPL spokesman revealed: "I don't think the auction will happen before March.
"This is going to be a long drawn-out battle – if the court favours the BCCI, then the other side will go to the Supreme Court and vice-versa.
"The whole thing is sub-judice. Whatever happens in the High Court, one party will go to the Supreme Court."
The BCCI axed Rajasthan and King's XI Punjab from the IPL over alleged infringements of franchise ownership rules.
Hampshire unveiled their commercial partnership with Rajasthan earlier this year.
