Hampshire's Rose Bowl has been voted the No 1 international cricket ground of 2010 in England and Wales.

An independent online survey of the nine international venues in England and Wales carried out on behalf of the ECB at the end of the 2010 season saw the West End venue come out on top.

Online survey data was collected from fans who attended International matches and domestic finals at all grounds during last season including the NatWest Series One Day Internationals at The Rose Bowl between England and Australia (June 22) and England and Pakistan (September 22) and the remarkable Friends Provident t20 Finals Day (August 14).

The Rose Bowl had previously been voted “Most Improved Cricket Ground” in the country by the readers of national magazine All Out Cricket.

Hampshire Chairman, Rod Bransgrove said; “It is always extremely pleasing to be recognised for all your hard work, but it is especially so when the praise comes from the fans that visit the venue.

“We make every effort at The Rose Bowl to ensure that the customer experience, from buying your ticket to finding your way around the venue and getting home afterwards is as easy and enjoyable as possible.

" So I’m delighted with the outcome of both of these surveys which recognise both the quality of our fantastic new spectator stands and the great efforts of all The Rose Bowl staff who have been working hard on providing the highest possible levels of customer service.

“Having said that we will be re-doubling our efforts to ensure that visitors to both of The Rose Bowl’s International matches in 2011 will be equally impressed.”

The Rose Bowl scored the highest marks of any ground in the country and was particularly praised for the following things: · Telephone sales staff (call centre) – friendliness and knowledge · Tickets were easy to pick up / delivered in good time · View from the seat (improved from ‘above average’ to ‘far above average’) · Cleanliness of toilets
