Langley Manor are planning a second Southern Electric twenty20 Cup lightning strike when Alton visit Knellers Lane for a second round tie tomorrow (3pm).
With Steve Harris plundering a 52-ball century, the Manor thrashed Basingstoke & NH in the first round.
But skipper Rob Noble expects Alton to be far tougher opponents.
“We watched them chase down a big score at Totton & Eling in the last round and they showed their fighting qualities, which we’ll need to counter,” he said.
Langley Manor: R Noble, G Noble, Budd, Ayub , Renders, Smith, Harvey, Morgan, Peters, Brookland, Harris. Alton: R.Hale, D.Bowden, S.Myers, J.Penn, W.Phillips, M.P.Heffernan, M.J.Heffernan, B.Mortimer, J.Ballinger, T.Paul, M.Ireson.
Langley Manor lead a host of sides chasing a t20 upset in tomorrow’s second round ties.
With Tom Morton and Ryan Burl missing, South Wilts will be vulnerable if Andover’s Greg Dawson gets going at London Road, where Ali Hooper continues to sit it out with a hamstring injury.
Andover: G Dawson, L Andrews, T Lewis, J Hadfield, M Roberts, R Hadfield, M Knight, L Graham, M Adams, D Foy, H Blackburn.
Hook & Newnham Basics will give Premier Division leaders Lymington a run for their money on the compact KGV Ground, while Sarisbury Athletic, beaten semi-finalists last season, will go all out to lower Havant’s colours at Havant Park.
No doubting the biggest coup of all would be New Milton beating arch rivals Bashley (Rydal) at Fernhill, where a decent crowd is expected.
Bashley won the cup last season and will not want New Milton enjoying any form of local bragging rights.
Bashley (Rydal): Thurgood, Terry, Morris, Higgins, Watkins, Gilmour, Ridley, Vaughan, Underwood, Neal, Grierson Tomorrow’s ties, 3pm start unless stated: Andover v South Wilts (London Road, 4pm), Havant v Sarisbury Athletic (Havant Park), Hook & Newnham Basics v Lymington (KGV), Hartley Wintney v Burridge (Cricket Green), Langley Manor v Alton (Knellers Lane), New Milton v Bashey (Rydal) (Fernhill), Old Tauntonians & Romsey v Fair Oak (Romsey Sports Centre), Ventnor v Hambledon (Steephill).
