Will Bosisto hit an unbeaten 74 and Dave Taylor a quick-fire half-century as Totton & Eling nailed Bournemouth emphatically to the Southern Electric Premier Division basement with a seven-wicket victory at Southern Gardens.
Martin Miller (57) did his best to point Bournemouth to a competitive total, but apart from Victorian teen Alex Keath (25) and Ryan Scott (22) he received little support as James Taylor (3-37) reduced the visitors from 80-2 to 98-5.
Three lower-order batsmen got into the teens, but Bournemouth’s 181 was never likely to extend the Eels.
Dave Taylor hit a six and eight boundaries in a 39-ball 52 which provided the platform for an easy victory.
Bosisto scored three maximums and strike eight other boundaries.
Bournemouth have now lost all six Premier games, but skipper Martin Miller insists spirits are still high. “Bizarrely, I’m quite enjoying it at the moment,” Miller said. “If we weren’t enjoying our cricket then it would be a problem but, while it may sound surprising, the spirit is really good.”
