St Cross Symondians skipper Bill Walsh is contemplating a possible return from a broken thumb to play in his third-from-bottom side’s visit to Alton, who are chasing a Premier Division double.
Walsh has been side-lined for the past six matches, having injured his hand in the time pennant match against Burridge on July 12 – the last time St Cross won.
In Walsh’s absence, a relatively young and inexperienced St Cross side has lost four matches in a row and dropped on to the lip of the danger zone.
After a four-match winning run, Alton have lost their last two matches and have yet to win in the 50-over format.
Alton: Michael Heffernan, Ryan Hale, Will Phillips, Scott Myers, Dewayne Bowden, Abeed Janmohammed, Robbie Heywood, Joe Paul, Jack Myers, Ben Mortimer, Julian Ballinger.
