Teenage Sparsholt talent Tom Foster hit back-to-back half-centuries as Winchester Warriors celebrated a winning double in the NatWest Under-16 Indoor League at The Ageas Bowl.
He hit an unbeaten 61 in Warriors’ 63-run win over weakened South Wilts and followed it up with 52 not out against Havant, whom they beat by 46 runs.
It was the first time in the indoor league’s 12-year history a batsman had ever scored two 50s on the same night.
Foster wasn’t the only batsman to make hay – as two Havant teenagers also hit half-centuries.
Hampshire women’s starlet Emily Windsor, pictured, hit a match winning 55 not out to steer Havant home by one wicket against South Wilts, while Bobby Dyer hit a valiant 55 in his side’s defeat by Winchester.
Results: South Wilts 136-2 (4)(Knight 27, Lewis 27) Havant 137-5 (14)(Windsor 55*, Lewis 2-20, J Wade 2-36). Havant won by one wicket.
