ANDREW Surman is hoping Bournemouth’s great home record can see them claim a remarkable Premier League place.
The Cherries have won 12, drawn six and only lost three of their 21 Championship games at Dean Court this season, writes JACK ROSSER.
They are currently top of the Championship with just three games left after winning their last two matches at Brighton and Reading.
Now they have two home games in a row – against Sheffield Wednesday this Saturday and Bolton Wanderers on Monday, April 27 – before a last-day visit to Charlton. All three of the clubs Bournemouth still have to face have absolutely nothing to play for, apart from pride.
Cherries have only lost once at home since the turn of the year, 2-1 to second placed Norwich in January.
“Our home form has been pretty good this season,” said former Saints star Surman.
“At the start of any season people say you need to win your home games and we’ve done that.
“With a few games left that probably goes out the window a little bit. If we win our two home games but lose the away one then it doesn’t really matter.
“We have to go into every game, whether it’s home or away, and try and win it.
“The atmosphere has been great, home and away. It’s not like we’re going away and we’ve not got any fans there.”
Surman added: “Our main focus is the top two.
“If we fall short of that we’ll look at the play-offs then.
“Our only focus at the moment is finishing top of the league, where we are at the moment.”
