Havant & Waterlooville delivered their second knockout blow of the season to Team Bath last night, flooring the student side 3-0 in the FA Trophy third qualifying round at Westleigh Park.
But manager Ian Baird was honest enough to admit that a Bath sending off late in the first half changed the course of the game.
He said: "Team Bath did OK for 40 minutes but then had a lad sent off for punching Phil Warner off the ball.
"It was 0-0 at that point and the sending-off changed the game."
Hawks, who had already knocked Team Bath out of the FA Cup, made full use of their numerical advantage with goals by Richard Pacquette (2) and Jamie Collins.
Their reward is a December 16 home tie against Conference National outfit Gravesend & Northfleet, who are managed by former Hawks co-boss Liam Daish.
