NICK Holmes revealed that a rousing half-time team talk set Salisbury on the way to an FA Cup upset yesterday.

City trailed at the interval to a Nathan Tyson strike, but hit back to earn a replay and a place in the third round draw.

Boss Holmes said: "At half-time we gave the lads a bit more self belief that they could take the game to them, which we did.

"We did really well in the first half, we were in their half quite a lot without creating anything, and I just wondered whether the lads really believed they could win the game.

"We lost the goal from a set piece, which we'd try to plan against, so that was annoying.

"But we battled well, as you have to to get results, and Matt Tubbs did what he's good at.

"His name will be a bit more well known now, unfortunately for us."

Holmes added: "I know Clarkey (Ryan Clarke) had to make a couple of very good saves in the second half but we were camped in their half after the break and this time we created a bit as well.

"It was very pleasing to get a result and I hope it gave the lads belief that they can compete at that level.

"We're not out of it yet."
