EX-Saint Wayne Bridge scored his first club goal for almost three years as Chelsea were held 1-1 by League Two club Wycombe in the first leg of their Carling Cup semi-final last night.
The 26-year-old Winchester-born player was appearing in midfield for Jose Mourinho's injury-hit squad against a side 71 places below them in the Football League.
Bridge gave Chelsea a first half lead with only the sixth club goal of a career spanning 277 league and cup matches.
It was his first strike since a dramatic late winner at Arsenal in the quarter-final of the European Champions League in April 2004.
But Jermaine Easter's late strike embarrassed Chelsea and earned Wycombe, who included a former Saints defender of their own in their side in centre half Mike Williamson, a memorable draw at Adams Park.
Easter, who has scored in every round of the cup this season, finished coolly past Hilario with 13 minutes.
