SALISBURY City have got a welcome frontline headache to cure ahead of tomorrow's FA Trophy second round visit of Conference National strugglers Southport.

Whether it was the frustration of having last Saturday's game rained off or the thought of top scorer Matt Tubbs returning from a three-match suspension, Whites definitely got the best out of forwards Paul Sales and Robbie Matthews in Tuesday's 4-0 league win over Yeading.

Sales opened the scoring early with an assist from his strike partner and then the roles were reversed 20 minutes later when Matthews bagged the first of a brilliant brace, which was topped off by a fourth from Scott Bartlett.

"Robbie said he was going to score and I'm delighted for him that he did," smiled Whites' player-coach Tommy Widdrington. "Paul also did ever so well again. His all-round play in the last of couple games has been excellent. Maybe the postponements have helped by giving him a bit of a breather. It's always a bonus when he starts knocking in the goals".

Whether Whites will break up that partnership and restore Tubbs to the starting line-up tomorrow remains to be seen.

"We've got some tough decisions to make," said Widdrington. "Matt hasn't played for a while. Because of the wet weather, a three-match ban has ended up being three weeks".
