WINCHESTER City go into tonight's Southern 1 South & West derby at Andover with last season's top scorer Jamie Musselwhite struggling for form.
The 24-year-old who banged in 34 league and cup goals last term, was so off-colour on Saturday that he was taken off at half-time in City's 6-2 drubbing at Brook House.
And that spells bad news for manager Steve Moss, who loses his other big frontman Ian Mancey - scorer of Saturday's two goals - to a one-match suspension tonight.
Despite being out of sorts this season, former Hamble and Fareham frontman Musselwhite has been courted by two Nationwide Conference South clubs.
Eastleigh have long been on his list of admirers and he has also attracted interest from Mick Jenkins at Dorchester Town.
Moss still rates him as one of the hottest young strikers in the county, but said: "Jamie's got a lot on his plate at the moment having just got married and started up his own business, but whether the approach from Eastleigh has affected him, I don't know.
"He's disappointed in himself and knows he's not playing as well as he can.
"If anything, he's probably trying too hard to score the perfect goal rather than relying on his natural instincts."
