EX-SAINT Micky Adams believes he deserved more time to revive the club's fortunes before being sacked.
Former Sky Blues player Adams admitted he was "devastated" after receiving the news from chairman Geoffrey Robinson and managing director Paul Fletcher at a board meeting at the Ricoh Arena on Wednesday morning.
Adams was informed his future at the club would be discussed by the board of directors and shareholders after the disappointing 2-0 FA Cup defeat at home to League One side Bristol City.
The third round loss extended Coventry's winless streak to eight matches in all competitions but Adams, who has remained defiant throughout, believes he was capable of better results.
He said: "I'm devastated because it's not been a disastrous tenure and that's what I can't understand. I felt I could have turned it around."
