AFC TOTTON battled through to the last 16 of the FA Vase for the second time in the club's history with a hard-fought 2-1 success at Potton United.
"It was a real dogfight of a game," admitted Totton assistant manager Sean New. "There were tackles flying in - from both teams - that would never have been tolerated in the Wessex.
"Although the scoreline was close, we ripped their full backs apart for the entire 90 minutes and I didn't think that they (Potton) had much to offer."
But the visitors were caught cold after ten minutes when Potton scored from a quick free-kick by Paul Garrett.
The Sydenhams Wessex League high-fliers were level just ten minutes later, though, when Mark Osman tapped in a Gareth Byers cross.
Totton's winner came midway through the second half.
Byers picked out Mike Gosney and, although his initial effort was parried by the keeper, Gosney hunted down the loose ball and slammed it home from an acute angle.
