Hurt manager Ian Robinson made a hasty exit after watching his Lymington & New Milton side taught a painful lesson in passion and desire.
Winchester City put their New Year's blues behind them with a thoroughly deserved 3-0 victory courtesy of 16-year-old youth product Chris Flood and loan debutants Josh Thomas and Phil Cousins.
But for the lack-lustre Linnets it was their NINTH straight defeat in the Southern 1 South & West - and another dagger in the heart of the likeable Robinson who, less than two years ago, led the Foresters up victoriously from the Wessex League.
Robinson was in no mood to hang around for the post-match interviews, leaving coach Andy Leader to talk in his absence.
Leader has only been on board for five weeks after giving up his job as manager of Christchurch, but has already seen enough to know that Robinson deserves better.
"I feel so sorry for Robbo," he said. "He's done marvellous stuff for this football club and I just hope people don't forget that.
"He's been true to his word ever since I've been here and let me get on with what I do.
"But things are not going well and, as coach, I'll take joint responsibility for that.
"I feel the pain Ian's going through and I just wish I could get him a win."
