FOUR Fisher Athletic old boys ganged up on their former club to give Eastleigh vital breathing space in the battle for Conference South survival.
Uncannily, ex-Fish trio Carl Wilson-Denis, Steve Watts and Steve West were all on the scoresheet for Jason Dodd's men, who chalked up their fourth home win on the bounce.
And yet another former Docklander, goalkeeper Jamie Pullen, played a key part in a victory that lifted 17th-place Eastleigh six points clear of the Nationwide Conference South drop zone ahead of today's assignment at Havant & Waterlooville.
"Wilson-Denis has played for us, Westy's played for us and so has Steve Watts. I was just waiting for Jamie Pullen to score a penalty and complete the set!" smiled Fisher's sporting secretary John Leyden.
Pullen may not have got his name on the score sheet but his heroics ensured Fisher drew a blank on an afternoon when they carved out at least as many chances as Eastleigh, if not more.
Even Dodd had to admit: "We've played a lot better than that and not won.
"Fisher are a very good side and they edged it in the first half.
"4-0 was probably unfair on them, but we'll take it!"
