BASSETT-based teenager Mike Gosney showed just why he is attracting attention from a number of Football League clubs on Saturday with a superb hat-trick that helped fire AFC Totton to a 5-1 success against Hamble ASSC.
The talented 19-year-old, being closely monitored by AFC Bournemouth, opened the scoring in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division match at Testwood Park midway through the first half with a 40-yard free kick that eluded everyone before nestling into the corner of the net.
A headed own goal by Andy Wynn five minutes later doubled the Vase finalists' lead before Gosney beat two defenders and fired his shot across the keeper to make it 3-0 early in the second half.
The nippy left-winger then turned provider for Lee Stevens to head Totton's fourth after 57 minutes with Gosney completing his hat-trick in stunning style moments later with a sweetly-struck 35-yard drive.
