Like most football fans, I spent Wednesday evening channel hopping between Manchester United v Roma and Valencia v Chelsea.
It is hard to recall many better nights for English club football. Sir Alex Ferguson, pictured, said that United's 7-1 win against Roma was the best European night at Old Trafford and that is saying something.
Some of the goals that Manchester United scored were simply breathtaking and they did not come against any team.
Roma are a top-class side renowned for a strong defence so to score four goals in the first half was marvellous and no small feat.
A lot of the headlines went to the likes of Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo but it was Ryan Giggs who stood out for me.
