Gosport Borough manager Alex Pike called on his players to repeat their 6-0 thrashing of Downton ahead of last night's visit to Horndean.
And they did exactly that at Horndean's Five Heads Park to leapfrog AFC Totton and go three points clear at the top of the Wessex Premier Division.
After their second consecutive 6-0 win, following last Saturday's home defeat of Downton by the same score, Gosport also have a four-goal goal difference advantage over Totton, who they meet in a title decider this Saturday.
And last night's result means the FA Vase finalists will need to win by two or more goals at Testwood Park to dramatically pip Pike's side to the title and win the Wessex League for the first time in the club's history by virtue of having scored more goals.
