Eastleigh ended their relegation fears with a 1-1 draw with play-off hopefuls Bishop's Stortford at The Silverlake Stadium last night.
Jason Dodd's Spitfires had to do it the hard way by coming from a goal behind against the Conference South's fifth-placed side to earn a share of the spoils.
Bishop's experienced striker Roy Essandoh put the visitors in front after just six minutes, a lead they took into the break.
But Andy Forbes levelled for Eastleigh two minutes short of the hour mark with his 19th league goal of the season to rescue a point for the Spitfires.
Dodd paid tribute to his players for their performance and recent home form.
"I got the performance I was looking for," said the former Saints star.
"It was end-to-end football and I am sure the supporters went away having enjoyed the very last home game of the season.
"We have only been beaten once in the last ten games at home and that's full credit to the players and something we can build on."
