HAVANT & Waterlooville host Braintree in a potentially explosive Conference South play-off semi-final on Wednesday.

Ian Baird's men receive the Essex side just two months after West Leigh Park's away dressing room was left needing over £700 worth of repairs after Braintree's visit. Braintree were fined a four-figure sum by the league and also had to foot a £722.03p repair bill for the damaged dressing room.

The game, which was drawn 1-1, was followed by a war of words between Baird, below, and Braintree boss George Borg.

And the Braintree website also appeared to blame Havant for the dressing room fracas.

"The Braintree players returned to their dressing room to find that it had been ransacked and all their clothing thrown into the showers and soaked," said the site. "George Borg completed his afternoon by giving a live interview to the BBC standing in his underwear and one sock - the only dry clothing he could find."

Braintree chairman Lee Harding also told his club's website after the match: "While we are all, of course, fiercely competitive for the ninety minutes, I always felt at non-League level there was a friendliness that we all shared and a passion for this level of the game.

"It wasn't the warmest of welcomes and it is a shame that some of the facilities offered to us were not as we would expect.

"To see our players having to get changed into soaking wet clothing after a game of football is disappointing."

Havant were cleared of any wrongdoing by the Conference.

Ex-Saints academy player Brett Poate netted twice as Havant finished third with a 3-3 draw at Fisher.

Poate had scored the first goal and also netted the second to make it 2-2 at the interval.

James Collins grabbed the visitors' 75th minute second leveller.
