AFC Totton's FA Vase dream ended in heartbreak at Wembley this afternoon.
Truro City came from behind to win with two second-half goals after equalising on the stroke of half time against the brave Sydenhams Wessex League outfit.
AFC Totton defender DANNY POTTER had given his side a 27th minute lead by lashing home the opening goal in front of a 27,754 crowd - a record for an FA Vase final.
Potter lashed home the opener after Truro goalkeeper Daniel Stevenson failed to hold on to a Gareth Byres corner.
A thrilling Mark Osman run was followed by a cross which flew across the six-yard box, evading Floyd Hamodu and Mike Gosney before being turned behind for the corner from which AFC Totton took a deserved lead.
Truro did not give Iain Brunnschweiler a shot to save until the 33rd minute, but KEVIN WILLS beat the Totton keeper inside his right post from 15 yards for the 44th minute equaliser.
And after Byres had had a cross shot palmed away, a Gosney strike was cleared off the line - before Truro took the lead for the first time against the run of play in the 56th minute.
WILLS cut on to his left foot and beat Brunnschweiler from 20 yards inside the Totton keeper's left-hand upright.
Striker Hamodu had a shot saved and a header cleared off the line as AFC Totton looked for the equaliser.
But after 71-goal Stewart Yetton had crashed a header against Brunnschweiler's crossbar, JOE BROAD sidefooted the third after a swift counter attack.
Totton substitute Lee Stevens had a diving header tipped over the bar in the last minute of normal time, before the thousands from Hampshire bedecked in Totton blue and pink gave their side a standing ovation.
