SYDENHAMS Wessex League outfit Fareham Town have made sweeping changes at boardroom and managerial level.
Louis Savage, Town's manager for the last three seasons, and his right-hand man Joe Laidlaw have been replaced by a three-pronged management team spearheaded by Mike Benfield from Sydenhams Premier neighbours Horndean.
Benfield will be assisted by Matt Parr, who led Locks Heath to the Sydenhams 1 (formerly Sydenhams 2) title two seasons ago, and Mick Cripps from Petersfield Town.
Off the field, former Locks Heath chairman David Mundy has joined the Cams Alders outfit as vice-chairman, while long-serving clubman Bryan World, a life vice-president and general manager of Cams Alders, becomes club president.
Benfield's appointment coincides with major developments on and off the pitch aimed at turning Fareham into a community club.
Pending planning approval, there will be two new all-weather pitches inside the ground and a new full-sized pitch and three mini pitches on the land outside.
Negotiations are also ongoing with the Driving Standards Agency to use Cams Alders as a motorcyle training and test centre, bringing valuable income to the club.
