WEMBLEY heroes AFC Totton have had to cancel their Pink Celebation Ball' tonight - through lack of response.
The Sydenhams Wessex League outfit took a staggering 16,000 fans to the new national stadium back in May when the reached the final of the FA Vase.
Yet only 30 people had paid up front for tonight's marquee dinner/dance at Eastleigh FC which they had hoped would attract 200, paying £45 per head.
Totton's assistant manager Sean New, who is working overtime trying to get commercial activity going at the club, is gutted at having to cancel.
But he conceded: "There's been no response club-wise, player-wise or committee-wise.
"People have promised to buy tables and it's not happened or they've not come up with the payment.
"There's no way we could turn up at Eastleigh tonight with just 50 people.
"Some said they would make donations to the club instead, but we need bums on seats to bid for auction lots and buy raffle tickets.
"I've got three table paid for and that's it.
"Everyone else is on a promise - and we can't do it on promises."
