ANDREW SANDELL marked his Salisbury City debut by making one goal and scoring another as Whites continued to make themselves at home in the Blue Square Premier with a 4-1 win over Crawley Town.

And the good news for City is that the 23-year-old Bristol Rovers loan man has promised more to come once he is fully match fit.

Watching his vibrant first-half performance, it was hard to believe that Sandell - in for the unwell Luke Prince - had barely played in the last six months having missed the tail end of Rovers' season with a back problem.

Starting off on the right, he was switched across to his stronger left flank after Crawley's Curtis Ujah had been red-carded at the expense of Matt Tubbs' penalty opener, and immediately made his presence felt by setting up man-of-the-match Robbie Matthews for number two on 37 minutes.

Seconds later he laid another on a plate for Darrell Clarke, only for his fellow wideman to pull a dream chance wide.

It was left to Sandell himself to bury Salisbury's third in the 58th minute after the ball had literally dropped at his feet some 30 yards out off the outstretched boot of Crawley's Tony Scully as he attempted to deal with Mike Fowler's throughball.
