WELSH boss John Toshack is utterly convinced ex-Saints star Gareth Bale can cope with tomorrow's Euro 2008 test against Germany.

"He may still be a baby in football terms but he has exploded on to the scene," said Toshack.

"He is not only one for our future, but he is without doubt the right man for the job now."

Bale will play on the left side of a back five, with unlucky Joe Ledley, another 20 year-old, dropping to the bench from his usual left-back role.

"Gareth missed some of the pre-season due to injury but Spurs have been superb with us over him," Toshack added.

"They have been happy for him to join up with us and if more clubs were as co-operative as they have been things would be a lot better for us all round".
