A SOUTHAMPTON football team has scored big after being newly kitted out.
Southampton Saints Girls and Ladies Football Club (GLFC) received a new kit for its players after the club was named a winner of Anglian Home Improvement’s “Support for Sport” campaign.
Backed by Olympic hockey player Sam Quek MBE, Support for Sport was launched by the firm to put the spotlight on all those who play a sport at a grassroots level.
Guest judge, Sam, helped to select the winners, with Southampton Saints GLFC being one of 20 teams selected to kick off the season in their new kit worth £300.
Founded in 1979, Southampton Saints GLFC plays a major role in the Southampton community by bringing people of all ages together through sport.
The team play in South West Division 1 League and consist of a senior 1st team, as well as two junior teams for under 13’s and under 15’s.
Kaylee Senter, defender at Southampton Saints GLFC, said: “With the new kit, the team will not only look the part for the new season, but this gesture of support will help to foster an even greater sense of team spirit and positivity among the players and all those who help out at the club.”
