THE SYDENHAMS Premier Division championship trophy looks certain to presented at Totton's Testwood Park once again this season.

Less than 12 months ago, the Stags saw the prized pot snatched away from them by Gosport Borough - despite their final day 1-0 victory over Alex Pike's team - who won it by virtue of a plus one goal difference after the two clubs finished all square with 89 points.

So what a contrast this time around!

AFC Totton will go into this weekend's crunch home game against Brock-enhurst with a colossal 11-point cushion at the summit knowing that victory will see them crowned as champions.

"What a day, what can I say," smiled Totton assistant manager Sean New.

"The results have really gone well for us with VT and Wimborne both losing - and even Saints have won!

"It's a real bonus to have the opportunity to be crowned champions at home - I'll ring up Setanta and see if they want to show the game live!

"It won't be easy against Brockenhurst as they have shown this weekend by beating Bournemouth Poppies 2-0.

"The situation will also bring its own pressure on the players in front of what will hopefully be a large and expectant crowd - but it is a nice pressure to have."
