HEROIC Cherries crashed into League Two, despite a monumental effort at Brunton Park.
Kevin Bond's troops could only manage a 1-1 draw against high-flying Carlisle, while Cheltenham's shock victory over promotion hopefuls Doncaster Rovers condemned the Dean Court outfit to the drop.
It was a brave, brave effort by Bond's men after Scott Dobie had put the Cumbrians in front after 58 minutes.
Brett Pitman gave Cherries hope 10 minutes later, but Bond's men could not muster a winner.
Bond fielded an unchanged side from the one that set up the Greatest Escape with a 1-0 home win over fellow strugglers Crewe last weekend.
