VT FC boss Dave Diaper has a meeting with the club’s parent company, The VT Group, tomorrow to discuss the future of the Sydenhams Premier title-chasers.
The Boatmen, who moved second in the league with a 7-1 caning of Laverstock & Ford on Saturday, are one of three clubs to have lodged an application for promotion from the Wessex ranks, along with Wimborne Town and Newport IoW.
But although their Portsmouth Road home is now well on its way to achieving Southern League grading, Diaper wants to be 100 per cent sure that the club could cope financially with playing at a higher level.
“I’ve requested a January 7 meeting with Paul Lester (chief executive of the VT Group) to discuss the future of VT FC over the next two or three years,” Diaper confirmed.
“I want to make sure that, if we go up, we would still have the level of finance needed to compete at the higher level and that it would be sustainable.
