A 22-YEAR-OLD woman is believed to be the first person in England ever hit by a Football Association disciplinary charge for comments made on social networking site Facebook.
Jolene Plomer, from Fareham, was fined £50 by the Hampshire FA for “not acting in the best interests of the game.”
It is understood that she posted derogatary comments about a league official following a game involving Portsmouth Ladies.
Plomer is an official of Pompey’s female team.
Hampshire FA issued a statement to the Echo, saying: “We can confirm that a club official of Portsmouth FC Ladies Youth was charged with improper conduct in relation to facebook activity.
“Details of a posting on the social networking website were reported to us which was deemed to be a breach of FA Rule E3 for not acting within the best interests of the game.
“The charge was accepted by the person concerned who received a fine of £50 and was also severely warned as to their future conduct.
“Any article, report or comments posted online if deemed to be improper will be dealt with in accordance with The FA’s Memorandum of Disciplinary Procedures.”
