Pompey owner Sulaiman Al Fahim has been admitted to hospital in Dubai, according to reports.
Photographs of the man who is now in charge at Fratton Park lying in a hospital room have been posted on the internet though the exact nature of his medical problems remain unknown at this stage.
The news comes a day after it was revealed that Pompey’s players and executive directors have not been paid their wages on time.
Conflicting reports this morning suggested that chief executive Peter Storrie’s rival consortium are going to fund the wages while others suggest that the Premier League will step in to run the club as they do not want to see one of their sides in administration.
For his part Al Fahim has continued to insist that he will produce £50m that will go into the club’s coffers.
Pompey are bottom of the Premier League after seven defeats from seven games.
