Portsmouth’s winding up hearing on behalf of the Inland Revenue has been scheduled for Monday March 1.
The High Court appearance will be the club's last attempts at trying to convince the courts that the club can function properly and if they fail the club faces extinction.
Portsmouth also have to submit a statement of their financial affairs by Wednesday in order to prove that the club can financial fund itself as a business.
However, the date allows for further time to attract a new owner and means the south coast club will continue to receive revenue from the upcoming home fixtures.
An official statement on the clubs website read: "Portsmouth Football Club has been informed by the High Court today that the hearing of the winding up petition against the club by HMRC has been provisionally fixed for Monday, March 1. "The club is working towards bringing new finance into the business and is in advanced talks with prospective buyers."
