Pompey administrator Andrew Andronikou he will ask the Premier League to help save the club next week.
Adronikou says he has been invited to attend the monthly meeting of Premier League chief executives on Thursday, when he will ask for the nine-point deduction to be erased.
He will also seek early parachute payments and the ability to sell players outside the transfer window.
Andronikou said: "I understand everyone is taking it for granted we are going to be docked the nine points.
"It is something I need to broach with the Premier League and then look to start talking about parachute payments. I need that to be confirmed.
