League leaders Sholing quickly got back to winning ways with a 1-0 home win over third-placed Mangotsfield in the Zamaretto South & West this afternoon.
Skipper Kevin Gibbens struck in first-half stoppage time to maintain the Boatmen’s 100 per cent home record in the League.
Sholing rang the changes following Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat at Frome, welcoming back Lee Webber, Ryan Ashford, Adam Camfield and Tyronne Bowers into the starting eleven.
Skipper Kevin Gibbens was influential for the Boatmen early on. First he held the ball up and played in Marvin McLean, whose attempted cross-shot was wayward. Then he headed on for Barry Mason whose attempted chip was tipped over by keeper Danny Greaves.
Eastleigh reached the last 64 of the FA Trophy when they beat Folkstone Invicta 2-1.
Salisbury will also be in the hat on Monday for the first round proper following a comprehensive win at Conference South Lewes by three goals to one.
See Monday’s Daily Echo for a comprehensive round-up of the weekend’s non-league action.
