COLDEN Common lifted one piece of silverware at the weekend when they defeated AFC Stoneham to win the Puma Engineering Hampshire Premier League Senior Cup final.
A 100th minute penalty from Dave Philpott saw them complete a come-from-behind victory at Gosport Borough’s Privett Park.
And Common can clinch a second cup tomorrow when they face Netley Central Sports in the Hampshire Intermediate Cup final at AFC Totton’s Testwood Stadium (7.30pm).
The division’s top scorer, Dave Reading, put Stoneham ahead against Common in the 37th minute.
And that is the way it stayed until 16 minutes from time when Liam Magee levelled.
Philpott’s extra time spot-kick decider ensured a week of mixed cup final fortunes for Stoneham – six days earlier they hd beaten favourites Brockenhurst to retain the Southampton Senior Cup at St Mary’s.
Fleetlands won the Puma Engineering Hampshire Premier League Combination Cup final, beating Clanfield 2-1.
Jamie Wrapson and Barry Snelling put them 2-0 ahead before James Salmon grabbed a 90th minute consolation.
